Dustin Hoffman's quote in the 1967 film 'The Graduate': "Mrs Robinson, you're trying to seduce me... Aren't you?" could now easily be transferred to this Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider which seduced many Italian sportscar enthusiasts after her prominent appearance in 'The Graduate' film. The numerous road scenes where Dustin Hoffman drives his Duetto Spider with beautiful background music from Simon & Garfunkel gave this Alfa Romeo an instant cult-car status.

My Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider is exactly the same version and color as the one featuring in 'The Graduate'.

Nowadays collectors agree that the early pointed tail version (coda longa) was the purest Battista Pininfarina design from the succesive Alfa Romeo Spider variants he made.

This Duetto Spider in stock is the basic 1300 GT Junior variant but benefits nevertheless from all the typical Alfa Romeo refinements available on all models of that period: 90 HP twin overhead cam all alloy 4 cylinder, fed by twin Weber carburettors coupled to a 5 speed gearbox.

Completely restored approx. 5 years ago in Germany by a specialist classic car restorer, this Spider Duetto passed every year without any problems the rather severe German TUV test. Hardly driven though, this Duetto Spider is inside-out still in perfectly sound and clean condition.

Probably invented the term VW GTI and it struck solid concept, but their car came at least 15 years of Alfa Romeo. Since Giulia'en was presented as the successor to the popular Giulietta in 1962 was for its time a bilteknisk titbit. Safety equipment including Sparco integrated fire extinguishing system, foam filled aluminum fuel cell, Sparco race seat with head support and full 6-point 3” harness with turn buckle quick release. 6 point Sparco roll cage. All to current FIA homologation.

This car has competed in the danish historic touring car series under FIA regulations since 2004. It comes with valid HTP FIA papers for competing in the 2 litre Grp.2 1965-71 class. In 2005 it came in 2nd and in 2007 it won the Danish championship. This is a full-blown and very competitive historic race car with lots of expensive parts.
